OMG, MC Dojos meet the internet. So, now you can "Master" Karate by not even having an instructor in front of you??? Okay, my critical eye says that they kick like kick boxers, punch like kick boxers, have Muay Thai self defense set ups and the guys back stance...he's a 4th dan? would not throw my money away on this at all. Go to a real Dojo and train, training in your living room wont do you ANY good unless its to back up your dojo time! My two cents worth, avoid this kind of training money pit! Its a sham and a bad one at that. I have seen "earn your TKD" web sites before but this is a sad preview of things to come I fear.

James as a relative newbie I thought if you the grumpy one is warning us away from it then I wont be signing up lol. I looked at it and by goodness(normally I would say something worse) their backstance was defo a 50 press ups and try again. Not for me this online malarkey I will stick to grumpy pernickety sods who teach and correct me as I am going backed up with my JKA Sensei Enoida books, my JKS kata dvds and Sensei Iain Abernethy and Sensei Simon Oliver bunkai and oyo dvds for extra homework. Not missing out OSS karate Samaritans

This is just a spoof post to get people to look at their web site. I would be surprised to see any further posts from Michelle and he was probably one of the stars of the video or an associate. Seen them like this before for different made up styles.

I reflect that comment ;D Im a tad old fashion here, I think a student...a Sensei...a Dojo...training hard...thats Karate. Throwing a student an Ipad and saying here....email me your Kata and get a partner to Kumite with...well thats not Karate.

Hey guys, Just found this forum and love it already! Wanted to tell you about: www.onlinekaratetrainer.comI registered myself for free on their website and checked out their free introduction lesson. I was surprised! Since I was skeptical at first...but I really like their approach. Since I'm addicted to my iPad, I can now practice/learn Karate whenever I have it with me ;D Thinking on buying a their Fundamentals lesson...would be great if I get a head start on my nephew with whom I started training Karate last week Cheers, Michelle Firstly you love our forum and only post once - well thanks for your opening "like" comment. The "Wanted to tell you about" comment is a bit quick in the conversation so you must be desperate to get down to business. Next mention FREE twice in the next sentence and that you were sceptical at first to try and build up a rappor with the regular (real) posters of the forum. Demonstrate how easy their (your) rubbish can be followed by slouching on a sofa or wallowing in a bath instead of actually moving your body in a real Dojo. Then in for the kill, you (as our new best buddy) are thinking of buying this rubbish, then appeal to our human side by thinking this will keep us ahead of the younger member of family training with us. Use online stuff to help sharpen your Dojo training, only by giving effort you will ever get anything out of Karate - it's a 2 way street! Your Sensei will show you the way (hopefully), once you learn HOW to train then you will train properly, your Sensei will show you the Way but the hard work is down to you. If in the future you can get this far down the path by watching others do it on an ipad then I will eat my Black Belt! Sorry for the beer rant - hopefully real Karateka might have had a grin or two....

Hey guys,
Let's get something straight: I'm not one of the guys in the video and I don't have anything to do with their product! So please don't judge me and no need to be so mistrustful.
And yes I'm a new member, and yes after reading quite some posts I really started liking this forum...is that such a bad thing!?
Last but not least...I agree that online as well as offline (books) stuff can be used to sharpen my dojo training. Since I'm a beginner, and I want to become really good, I'm looking at more alternatives.
Ciao

Since I'm a beginner, and I want to become really good, I'm looking at more alternatives. Ciao Hey Mstanko, Welcome to the forum. Sorry if the "welcome wagon" was more a "circle the wagon" kind of thing. but a few things to clear up. Your post did kind of sound a bit Troll-esk...probably our fault for taking it that way so I am sorry. Also, we got some rules in these parts (sounding as much like a wild west sherif as I can). You have to put your real name on the post at the bottom (sig. part of the post) so we know you are not trolling. Sorry for all the gruff, and we can agree that their is no replacing getting your feet on the floor of the Dojo to replace watching a video or reading a book. I have actually seen TKD clubs online that will promote you for time in training and you checking off a check box saying you did a work out....crazy stuff man!
