Hi guys I thought I'd post some information on a weekly session I run/train with in Milton Keynes. It's very hard to put a title on what we do but it's basically a traditional martial arts MMA session. We do bag work drills, ground work sparring, throws and occasionally sparring. Sometimes we get kitted up and go bananas on each other with full contact drills. The idea is to pressure test our regular techniques and learn other skills from other guys in attendance. Most of the attendees are Shotokan guys from my dojos but there are also judoka, jujitsu and aikido practitioners, goju and kyokushin guys and some mma fighters there too. Whilst I would say I lead the sessions if someone turns up with an idea we run with it. The focus is on hard training and skill sharing without attitude and politics. Everybody wears shorts and shirts and grade heiracy is left at the door as everybody wears different gear and has different etiquette in their own dojo it would be too counter productive to bother with!
All are welcome regardless of style, club, affiliation or rank. Everyone pays £4 into the pot (£2.50 if 3 guys from same club support) and any profit goes to covering the hall for the quieter days when it could make a loss. Venue is the buszy in central Milton Keynes every Monday at 8:30pm. We generally go on till about 9:45pm or maybe later.
If you are interested please call me or PM through the forum 07734 227705 Thanks Gareth
