Anyone use them? I have introduced myself to a whole new world of hurt and they are addictive. Does anyone know of a company thet sells second hand ones? as I need to go heavier but they are pricey.

Sorry not a help I'm afraid but you may be able to answer a question for me.
Kettle Bells seem to be all the rage at present but what do they allow you to do that the standard dumbell set doesn't?

Hi Bob, the normal dumbell is designed to isolate a particular muscle group due to the weight being balanced laterally. The kettlebell has the weight offset from the handle requiring the involvement of more muscles to control it. Coupled with specific exercises it is possible to use one set to, for instance, work the entire posterior chain. It makes using weights a more aerobic activity and shifts many more calories than free weights alone. Take a look on youtube, there are some great Tabata type exercise regimes targeted at martial artists.
