Miguel got promoted to purple belt last week after 2 years! He never misses a class! Well done & well deserved! He's in the black gi on the right. I'm the handsome guy between the two black gi's In our promotion ceremony everyone throws the recipient Attachments:

Just curious, why the black gi? It is not anything important, just that I do not see it often in Shotokan groups. And to just to make sure you know why I ask, it is hot here in Japan, and in my dojo, do-gi is not required. Shorts an t-shirts are ok.

We are not a Shotokan dojo. Our style is Vee-Jitsu. It's a very mixed martial art. My sensei only allowed white or black. We wear do-gi because we do a lot of judo & ju-jitsu. We have a good group here. These guys work hard. Thanks for asking.
