This guy is a kung fu practitioner from Afghanistan. for those old enough to remember he is reminiscent of Alfie Lewis in his heyday but this lad appears to rely mainly on leg-work whereas Alfie used everything. However, watch this lad execute one of the fastest and cleanest examples of front leg mawashi geri used defensively. if you blink you'll miss it but tis worth rewinding a few times to see the perfect timing, distancing and kicking form he uses. do not be sidetracked by his somersaults and spinning stuff despite his clear athleticism. just watch the perfection of his front foot MG. Do not blink for a few seconds from about 12 seconds onwards enjoy www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8DQgr2KNmU&feature=related

Being serious here Alex - experience and having competed for 20 yrs means you get 'the eye' and know what to watch for. Don't worry though young un - with your dedication and determination to progress you'll get it eventually.
the guy is clearly very athletic but that Mawashi Geri is stunning in terms of timing, distancing, accuracy and form and to me is far more beautiful to see than the somersault stuff because it is a technique within most peoples grasp if you work hard enough. I have just heard that George Oliver (Terry Oliver's son) did a textbook Mawashi Geri for ippon and then a text book ushiro Mawqshi Geri in the senior finals of the Plymouth Open last weekend = Bloody marvellous.
