So, instead of going negative, like my comments about a few instructors that I have run into....Who would you like to train with (For a first time or again) that you COULD train with (so no Funakoshi Sensei comments).
Pick you top five and why and lets see if we can get a nice long list of great instructors here.
My top five:
1. Tanaka Sensei: I have had the chance to train with Tanaka, my idol growing up, and as he ages he seems to get deeper and deeper in his classes. A class act and fun to train with. He also pushes you to the breaking point...and just a tad further and even at my age I enjoy the feeling of complete exhaustion after his classes.
2. Yahara Sensei: never trained with him, but aside from Tanaka Sensei, Yahara was always one of my favorite Karateka to watch compete. Unique and fun in kumite and serious and precise in Kata. It would be interesting to see him and train with him.
3. Uble Sensei:I have been told Uble sensei is a genious and as such...I would love to just take a few classes from him and hear his thoughts on Karate.
4.Imura Sensei: I have trained with Imura once before and not only was he a great person to laugh with, and he entertained, but his explanation of Kata was top shelf. I really enjoyed his classes and would love to go and have another class with him now.
5.Ray Dalke: I would love to train with the man as his attitude in Kumite was legendary.
