I know a few people have expressed an interest in the past so just to let you know that our once a month "applied" karate sessions in Croxley Green are moving from the last Tuesday of the month to the last Monday, starting on Monday 31st March. Same time and venue.

Hi Vince,
There are actually 3 clubs in Croxley (although I wouldn't really bill mine as such as it's more a private training thing). The other one in Croxley Green itself is very much geared towards younger students and the 3rd is down at Westfield.
My sessions take place at the Methodist Church Hall in New Road, the "applied" sessions we do are basically just an informal gathering of a few black belts from various groups to play with the more "rough & tumble" close range side of karate (rather than classical 3K's Shotokan). These typically only happen monthly, next one is Monday evening 21st July 8:00 - 9:30(ish). You are welcome to come along if you want to play, just given me a shout and let me know.
All the best
Bob D.

Hey Bob, Hope you dont mind, I moved this to this part of the forum. thought it was better suited for this. I really hope that your open event goes over well. We need more people teaching the true stuff in Shotokan. Best of luck with a great course!

No problem, makes more sense now it's an ongoing thing. We're still on last Monday of the month, although in danger of outgrowing our hall now (not a bad thing). We may be soon starting a second session in the Dunstable area (for those who know where that is). I will no doubt keep everyone posted

Sorry, a bit late with this one as we had 2 sessions this month and the first has already passed.
1st session was 3rd Nov, Punching from the seated position and from the ground, wrist/arm/shoulder lock flow drills and counters, "Pub" sets, 3 man(or woman) "strip, clear & counter" pad drills and other stuff (only posting this to give some idea of what we cover)
Next session is 24th Nov but follows form the Andi Kidd/Rakesh Patel seminar so material from this course will probably figure quite heavily.
Last session of the year will be 22nd Dec.
