In one of the threads some said that they didn't post becuase they had said everything in the Karate Underground.
Then I hear of an instructor that calls out a beginner. Asks them to do a downward block to their front kick, and speeds up until they block too quickly and kicks them in the hand and breaks their finger.
Shotokan Karate of course. Clearly these things need to be said again and again as inexperienced instructors repeat the same mistakes again.
We all need to go to work next day so breaking someone's fingers is incompedent and idiotic and really unacceptable.
I find it disappointing and pathetic.

But all to common unfortunately.
The "monkey see, monkey do" nature of the way a lot of karate is taught produces generation after generation of instructors with no understanding. They've never questioned and in turn never expect to be questioned, and so it goes on :-(

I also see many (and I mean A FREAKING LOT) of people who get their black belt under a uncaring instructor that is in it for money (fools, no money in Karate) and then they teach pathologically wrong and stupid moves and think they are great because they have a patch of black around their gut!
Truth is that Karate instructing should only be done by someone that cares about the students, researches and grows as a instructor and takes the whole process seriously and is not in it for Ego or money!
