I have just spent an entire week, 7 hour days, in the company of a certain Mr. Owen Murray MBE. My job brings me into contact with adults with severe learning disabilities and at times, for their own safety and the safety of others, it is necessary to know how to breakaway from a hold they may have on you or to restrain them without injury. It so happened that Owen was facilitating the course. I have spent a very enjoyable week alternatively reminiscing and being ragged around the mats by Owen, great fun! He also has book due out around Xmas about his life in martial arts. It promises to be full of anecdotes about what some would consider the golden age of Shotokan in the UK. I already have a copy reserved but if anyone would be interested PM me and I will pass your details to Owen.
