Sorry could not help myself....howmany square feet is your Dojo...and specifically training area?

My personal dojo is around 150 square feet, the training hall I use is around 1000 square feet.

looking at opening a brick and mortar Dojo in the very near future and had some set backs. Had a HUGE site picked out but it fell through. Now Im weight options and looking at what we have in the area I want to open in.

Ok, in that case I'd probably say that 1000sq ft (40' x 25') area is probably only sufficient for around 16 adult students to train comfortably IF you are teaching 'classic' Shotokan using 5 step drills etc., you could probably squeeze 24 kids into the same area.

I find 12 x 12 is about the smallest area I can fit the kata's into. I can manage 4 in this space but have to be careful they do not hit each other. Put the them in 2 half going towards each other fits more in. Best of luck with what ever you set up.
