So I just finished class and I couldn't help but notice I was the only one sweating (proper dripping sweat not little splashes) Is this because I'm completely out of shape or just because I'm not used to it? I'm quite tall and skinny so I'm not overweight at all

Everyone is different, some are backsliding in class and not doing there best. You are generating heat and the sweat is to keep this in check. I have trained for enough hours without drinking, and the sweat stops and your temperature climbs rapidly, and you end up in hospital if you are lucky.
It takes me about 20 minutes before I start to sweat so I used to get a lot of abuse because I wasn't trying hard enough. Karate is not renown for it's inclusiveness.

Some people do some don't so it's not just about how hard you are working or what sort of shape you are in. In normal exercise sweating is completely natural and you should be working hard enough to work up a good sweat! I was always dripping, but then I was keen and gave it all I'd got, (that was back when I was in really good shape in the early days), my son was the same so it's obviously genetic as well Didn't help once I'd "got used to it" because I was just capable of training harder so the effort always stayed the same. Make sure you drink plenty of water during the day before and after training, although this may not be allowed during the class, (thankfully the days of training until you pass out or throw up seem to have passed). It may be down to effort, it may be down to your age (a lot of stuff is going on still in the mid teens), it may be down to some others just going through the motions. What's the age range of people in your class?

Well my instructor is about 60-70, today we had a 5 year old in (it's the first time I'd seen them but they had a gi so must have been before) but otherwise my cousin who is 13 is the youngest. The oldest students look in their late 20s early 30s
