Alex Speaking as a parent - see it in your heart to forgive and forget - there arn't any parents in the world that get it right all the time - but i can assure you that when i spoke to them, before you came alone as a young person 'alone' to the Friendship course, they were supportive of your desire to attend and let you. you then - I can assure you - did them proud and arrived shy and uncertain and left as a very popular participant. I am sure (as a parent) they were very conflicted whilst you were away - wanting you to have a life but scared they were far away if you needed help. tis how it is Alex and if you are ever a parent you will understand. Talk to them about your desire to do well in life AND your love of Karate that is part of that journey. i went thru it with my parents a very long time ago! you'll be fine

Alex - that is very kind of you but i am simply older and floating in the deep end of life whilst you are just wading in to the shallow end. A bit of advise though - when you train - always keep in mind that you are training not only for yourself but to be able to step in and decisively protect your parents and other loved ones - especially your Mum for now and your partner and possibly children later. Every time you are tired or feel 'i ain't up to this today' think of them and say - if i do not give maximum effort they WILL BE HURT! Eventually you will develop a mindset that ignores your position and screams 'step up and help!' and then you can overcome all fears and anxieties except one - not being there if someone tries to hurt them - and that is just the reality of life. but train to know 'If i am there I will die before anyone hurts them' - it works lad i assure you.

Not great at Japanese but I think one of its uages (depending on the kanji) is breaking/tearing/burning up/destroying
so it would be interesting to see....

It was introduced to me as a term to apply to training - training in which you apply yourself fully, using every ounce of your strength to do as best as you can...
