Admittedly I'm finding it quite difficult to get out of the crescent stepping habit - almost definitely because when I stand still, I tend to have my feet together, and when I walk, I tend to walk on an extremely narrow imaginary line! I think overcoming this is going to be a case of "moowa turraining!" more than anything else though

I've used this in training now and have to see it feels better, the most direct route between two points is a straight line. Especially if pushing off with the back leg to get some speed and then assisting the punching arm with the hips twisting.

Hmm. If its wrong to step with crescent, then its wrong and i bow to your obvious experience in the matter fujicolt. But it is the way WE are being taught how to do it at our two classes at the moment, rightly or wrongly. However, i'me nothing if not forwards when i have a niggle about something in the old brainbox, so i will ask my Sensei's at the two classes on the Monday and the Wednesday. Just to ask gyakazuki, the three Karateka's in the KLUB CRVENI ZMAJ video are using a semi crescent step? There seems to be a definate semi crescent in the step to me, especially the young lady nearest camera.
