I took 3 silver medals last year (old geezer's division). I want gold! I'm training hard. I got punched in the arm the other night, right under the bicep, as I was punching. Now I got 'dead arm'. You know you got 'dead arm' when you lift your'e fork up to your'e mouth & drop it. I'm fighting 20 year olds hoping that I will have an edge when I face 55 & over 'old geezers'. 3 weeks to go. Thanks, Tom

Just don't do yourself an injury in the process. Good luck Tom.

VERY BEST OF LUCK TOM!
Seriously now - try anusol on the bruise - it has chemicals in it that are absorbed by the skin and reduce bruising - an old Boxers trick! and it works!

Sorry Steve. I don't use anything that starts with the word anus. Thanks, Tom

Just got back from Florida last night. I took silver in kumite & kobudo but came in 4th in kata There were only 7 or 8 'old geezers' there. In the fight for gold I felt like an old man. He was a tall lanky south-paw. I tried to come out quick with uriken uchi twice but they called his gyaku zuki. Then I tried to stay on his right side & beat him at his own game but he pivoted with me. I tried faking mawashi geri & coming in but he was too quick. Basically I got my butt kicked. It was a good trip all in all. I got a chance to have dinner with my Sensei & some of the officials so it was a successful venture. Thanks, Tom

FANTASTIC TOM - AND NO NO NO - there weren't only 7 or 8 old geezers competing - there are thousands of eligible Karateka in your nation and those who 'made the effort and commitment and turned up' beat thousands by doing so! Fantastic Tom and all of you! now go sleep for a week!

grunners - I did seiunchin, not even a Shotokan kata. But those guys were better this year. It gets harder each year. Last year I took the silver in kata but not this time Thanks, Tom
