Hi all,
I've been looking for a DVD that breaks down the real basics of shotokan to a fundamental level and the best I've been able to find any clips of so far is Kagawa sensei's "The Art of Shotokan". The explanations are all in Japanese but the physical demonstrations are so clear that this doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. (I've seen some clips showing the same things in English but, to be honest, most of them seem to demonstrate many of the same problems that I'm trying to overcome myself).
Does anyone know where I could acquire a legitimate copy of this DVD in the UK? (when I do a web search all I get is a load of hooky sites offering illegal downloads) and does anyone know if the actual DVD comes with English subtitles.
This DVD seems to be closest to what I'm trying to work on at present but I'm open to any other suggestions.
Many thanks in advance.

Would also appear to be titled as "Best Karate of Masao Kagawa". Looks like it was available via SKM with an English voice over on VHS video (which I have no way of playing) but not on DVD, ho hum, I'll keep looking.

I have the DVD, and it's excellent. Budovideos.com sells the region-free DVD, and that's where I got it. There based in Southern California, but I don't think there is any problem for international customers.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the link but I have now sourced a copy from Kamikazeweb in Spain, price looks about the same but I already have an account with them as I buy my Gis from them (If only I'd thought to check out their DVD selection first, doh!).
Glad you think it's worth having though, the clips I've seen looked very promising.
E-mailed SKM mag as they used to supply it on video and they pointed me in the right direction, very helpful.

Or if you can't get a multi region DVD, simply modify your player via the remote control. It takes seconds to do, does not harm your player at all, and you can play DVD's from all over the world !
