Sensei Kawasoe - AFAIK - has indeed returned to the JKA (subject to a meeting in Japan in October to finalise details and regarding his overall resposnibilities.authority in Europe) and has in fact recemtly attended and been introduced as JKA on a JKAE course......

He'll be attending the Takushoku anniversary Reunion then - I hear anyone who is anyone will be there including Richard Hesselton - the only nonjapanese to ever be captain. wouldn't yer love to be there and see all the famous Karateka over (I think) 80 years
and isn't it great the JKA leading with a return of a breakaway group - excellent IMHO

I were just visiting the kawasoesensei.wordpress.com/webpage and saw the poster which state "The Kawasoe Group" and was kind of curious. Is this a group/association of its own within the JKA in the british isles? I thought there were only allowed to be one representative/chief instructor in each country, in this case Ohta sensei? Forgive me if this is a stupid question, as I am not very familiar with the situation in GB

Hello Ernst
Check out "Current affairs in the world of karate" then "Kawasoe returns to the JKA" within the forum section of The Shotokan Way website. Contains 7 pages of postings.
Best Regards Allan
