I think now is the time to delete all threads pertaining to Steve H's court case, as it has now run it's course and is bringing down our site, so back to business, lets talk about our shotokan studies!!

At last, I have been advocating this for some time via Kensei.
Common sense has finally prevailed.

Personally strongly disagree - lock them by all means (though I wouldn't personally) but deleting them just makes it look as if your hiding something or ignoring it altogether or quietly supporting Steve who like it or not will always be seen by some as having a close association with this site Jim

I looked at Shotokan forums all over, can you point me to a single one that is currently hosting a "Steve Hyland" forum thread....I cant find one. All we are doing is respecting the family and also trying to avoid letting the forum be over run by trolls looking to throw dirt in a horrible situation!

It's probably time to move on, this forum has already been accused of being all about SH as he posted a lot and was in an Admin position. Since the court case news it has nearly slipped back into being all about SH, even the forum owners wife has posted to defend this forum when she is ill and needs to be focusing on getting better. After the shock and loss of friendships then the good people here are doing their best to get the forum back on track to being focused on Karate, nobody is hiding or ignoring it, maybe showing support for SH's family but nothing else.

Well I can certainly point you at a Martial Arts forum where it has been mentioned and also it has been mentioned on at least one other in relation to the Harry Cook case and Steve's comments on that - but to me that's not really the point I was making - it was simply hat due to Steve's well known association with OSS it's better (IMO) to be seen to be "whiter than white" - and regarding the forum Trolls that's an Admin/Moderation issue that can potentially arise over any topic - granted such emotive/sensational ones as this are more likely to attract comment and argument - and of course I did say that whilst not my personal choice the threads could also be kept visible but locked from further comment.... As noted above - it's the deletion of the previous threads that's IMO the main problem and I make no bones about being critical of such action/censorship and I certainly have no intention of upsetting anyone on here or in Steve's Family by saying so Jim

Well the decision has been made, the Admin team will never be able to please all of the people all of the time. The situation is what it is, but looking forward is what should be happening now.
