Hi I have started to learn combinations on the spot So to start we step back with the right foot and downward block, then we do a combination The only thing is that I am getting confused over what side to start my next move on If we then do a outer block and then reverse punch would I- use my right as a guiding hand and block with my left, then reverse punch with my right? Thanks!

Hi Jodan456, Could you please update your name in your signature? Makes it easier to address :-)
I assume you are doing a step back with down-block. Then you are stepping forward with an outer block and reverse punch. Since you stepped back with right foot, you will step forward with right foot as well. In this case, the outer block is normally done with the right hand, and the reverse punch with the left.
By the way, the term "reverse" punch indicates that it is done with the hand opposite the front-foot - so if your right foot is forward, by definition a reverse punch has to come with the left hand. Hope this helps! ______________ More sweat in training, less blood in battle
