Boxing tonight was a great work-out! Gotta move on the balls of your feet. If you don't stretch your calves you can wind up with a baseball in them. Boxed a beginner who just wanted to hit me with a right hand. :PHe loaded up on it each time so he never landed it. ;D Just lucky I can still do it at my age. Whaddayu guys like about boxing? Thanks, Tom

It's fun, I've only done a little - gym class boxing. Not the real thing in a ring. But the body movement is way different. Very qak handed trying to do upper cuts and hooks as we dont do much of that in karate so a very different feel - but diffenately lots of fun.

Please speak for yourself Fleur - we DO and I also often do these punches when i teach as a guest - but will give you that many DO NOT teach and really practice the full arsenal of Karate techniques - I have said for yrs - the majority only diligently train 1/3 of the available. Talk to your instructor about it I am sure your style has them especially if Okinawan based.

Oh yes Steve, my new style diffenately does. But not at the previous club which is when I did the boxing classes. We certainly do a lot more self defense teaching in my new style that incorporates all sorts of gems.
