Mmmm............... Steve Cattle and I played Chess a couple of times at my Old Mum's house - he was bloody awesome at it! My Dad Boxed a great deal as a younger man and was one of the most intelligent persons I have ever known - having said that I know quite a few Karateka and Boxers who may not do too well at the Chess rounds HAHAHA! but I know where my money would be on the scrapping bits There are several members here whom I can imagine being very good strategic chess players! I think the days of real brain damage from Boxing are still here but a minimal proportion when compared to past times! There has been a Lady MP promoting Boxing for young people here in the UK to instill discipline and respect - I for one would support her idea BUT as expected the Nanny Brigade had a dicky fit!

Took years before the boy could beat me at chess but, inevitably, he finally did, (sort of took the gloss off it by the fact that I had to TELL HIM he'd beaten me 'cause he hadn't spoted it ;D ;D) Can I apply that to a fight, if my opponent doesn't know he's beaten me does it count?

VICTORY - isn't about beating your attacker - it is about getting away home safely afterwards to ponder it all! Phew! ;D ;D
