Owners of the most unique styles in mixed martial arts today, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones and former titlist Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida will meet in the Octagon in the main event of December 10th’s UFC 140 card at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. This should be a good fight. Machida is basically a counter puncher. Bones is probably a better athlete & will come at him from every angle. If he chases Machida he will get caught.
Thanks, Tom

This is a toss up fight for me.
Bones is more athletic and has better take downs as a wrestler. He is younger, more explosive and has a unique "made up on the spot" approach to fighting. They have a basic plan but not a step by step kind of plan. He comes from a great camp and they have one of the best MMA coaches around.
Lyoto is a more direct counter striker. his striking is unorthodox to most MMA fighter and his ability to judge and play with distance is far better than most. He has great Jitsu but his wrestling is a bit weak. He works better off the top possition and his stand up is excellent at nailing you when you think you have the distance down. His timing is fantastic and his speed is sufficent to work well with that timing.
Bones lacks experience and has never really been in the deep end of a fight, his matches with Rua were against a less than par Rua and the rest of his fights were against guys that had never swam with the big fish.
Lyoto is elusive, but if you get him to leave his game plan of counter fighting he tends to lay his chin out for you to smack. He has good ground skills and striking and his chin is not bad, but he gets frustrated when he is pushed hard then the pressue suddenly gets let off. He charges and then he is open to KO.
I think that both men will be really focusing on game plans and it boilds down to whom plays it smarter.

Oh man Machida loses again. He did teach Jones a few things in the first round as Jones is now going to be working more on his defence, however he finished Machida right at the end if round 2 with a guilotine choke. Grr. Yo know I think that the opponents have started figuring out Machida`s style. He either has to train harder or maybe he should leave before he gets seriously hurt. I think that too many fighters stay in the game for too long & eventually have life changing injuries.. Osu Paul B
