Has anyone used these in training - I was thinking of a visually good way of demonstrating the power of the hips in Gyaku Zuki as a few students don't get it and have to be constantly reminded to rotate the hips. As we share space in a sports hall we haven't got any punch bags setup and they aren't easily transported, I was thinking of punching the football and then letting them see how much further the ball will go if you use the whole body especially the hips when punching. Could also be used with most techniques and could help demonstrate the need to curl the toes back in Mae Geri. Amazing what goes through your head at 5am when you can't sleep....... For anyone across the pond I do mean round footballs! But not the really thick/heavy ones.

I am big into sheild work (muay thai or kicking) If you want to really show the difference then use one of these. The instant power difference is way more obvious when they are holding a sheild and the power lands!

We've done a few sessions with body armour but have a lot of younger members so knocking them flying isn't always a good idea. I was thinking using footballs as it would be more of a visual effect and they could try hitting the far wall etc.
