now besides the obvious of not actually being caught in the first place, does anyone have a really effective method for escaping this hold? Last night we were working on a couple and nothing really suited me. tried looking at a few videos ( eg www.youtube.com/watch?v=eebxB17Ozr0 plus a couple others ) and a few other articles. The question that was raised was that, although we do grappling, holds, throws, chokes etc most of the time these don't include the escape aspect......which really does seem a little silly. **btw this is referring to a standing choke**

Although I know absolutely nothing about this choke, taking inspiration from Gichin Funakoshi regarding fighting dirty, is this not a perfect opportunity to pull/punch/kick where it hurts? In a real life situation of course Not sure your training partner would appreciate it much XD
