Wiltshire - Somerset

Our club is growing again this week with an addition of another training night at a new location in Wiltshire.
This Wednesday is the launch in Westbury (Wiltshire) at the new Leigh Park Community Centre at 7pm.

We already have Dojo's in Warminster, Hilperton/Trowbridge, Bath (Odd Down) and Beckington near Frome.
This one will be very central to our area and is located in the middle of a fairly new estate, the hall has just opened and is perfect.

Anyone nearby - or visiting the area - are more than welcome to come along and train with us, or we can set up a knowledge sharing session.

Hi Malk

I remember training at a non Shotokan club in the mid 1960's under a style called Mushindo which roughly translated means the way of no mind.

Mushindo is a generic term which no one lays claim to so it is a case of grin and bear it

I am sure the name of a club is secondary to what joe public see as being taught within its confines.

Fair point but at least they are in another country/continent and not a City less than 30 miles away.... We've used the name for several years so it was a bit of a shock to see a club with the same pop up last year.

Mushin is indeed a meaning, roughly translated as Mind, No Mind. It's an interesting state of mind to try and acheive during Kumite. I think I have a few times but always learning....

Update...
The above club still exists but I have separated my two from them and formed ZEN Shotokan Karate.
If you are within easy reach of Warminster or Westbury then you are welcome to drop in.
