Problem with dan grading

I love the beautiful words and the kanji.

Guess I tried to think of something to focus on and all I can come up with is;

I train everyday as if my life depended on it because, some days it does.

Not as lovely but it gets me out of bed

I don't think you need (or could) put it any more eloquently than that.

The difference between a real karate-ka and people like me (who are quite frankly just playing round the edges) is in the mindset when we train.
