Every time I hear of someone doing something they are brillant. So much so I do not think there is a person on the planet that I have heard of that isn't better than me.
So I think I will quietly get on and strive to be crap.

Hi Bert, If it makes you feel any better then I can step into that slot, (although I may not come under the definition of "heard of" outside of this forum), I'm certainly not "brilliant" at anything and am very much just a plodder trying his best. I'm having fun and still learning but I'm unlikely to ever excel at this stage of my life (and to be honest, that's good enough for me )

Hi Bert For what it's worth, I think you're brilliant at writing on karate forums!

I once read that you should always strive to be the dumbest guy in the class. The meaning of this is to find smarter people and not people that are not as educated in a subject as you, thats how you grow. And for the record, I agree with David....

Your are all very kind. I think I am often too brief.
Karate gives you an attitude where you suck it up and keep practicing you get ther in the end the truth will win out.
This doesn't work in life. I try to keep business away from my cobby.
Try "good guys come last" If you say you are brillant enough people will believe you.
"talk is cheap" no it isn't you can make a lot of money talking crap.
Doing the right thing is a very expensive luxury. Does karate work? I might threaten you with a very expensive law suit if you use my logo!

I was showing someone with anger issues, some Tai Chi to help relax them and they said "You are very flexible". So perhaps not everyone, I do not feel flexible, it is relative, as einstien said once and it depends where you are observing from.
