Training on the recent JKA course with Kawawada Sensei was a dream of mine.
I have always loved his karate, both kumite and kata. He had interesting things to say about fudo dachi being to hard on the knees and that you should practice sochin in zenkutsu dachi 9 out of the 10 times you do it.
A great karate-ka. One of my favourites to watch

simple in content Tom but to do it at that level so cleanly is less simple me thinks. As stated he was my hero on the tournament scene and was reknowned for such fast and accurate techniques. I also heard from a very reliable source that he is as hard as nails and kicks like a mule.
