it does not "Take gravity off the back" IT simply flips it around and causes gravity to effect it the opposite way! ;D They are great fun, but dont get stuck, knew a guy that did and ended up with a lengthy stay in the hospital! Threw his back way out! Also Steve, with new Million dollar body parts...check with your ortho-guy first to make sure it is safe for the million dollar man! I also read (in a not so reputable guide) that a guy fell asleep and his arms were relaxed over his head...he suffocated and died when his ribs no longer could expand...while the science is valid...I highly doubt its true...but it is kind of funny....I know...I know

thanks
I know several THR survivors that use them - what many don't realise that once rehab is over the THR hip is usually v strong just limited in certain ranges and you have to be careful regarding certain hip rotations - otherwise - well people take part in vigorous activities etc including that 'pushing and shoving' thingy that we used to call SEX when we were younger LOL

i shall sir i shall - but the docs are telling me that the fitter and more supple i can work towards the knock ons are all positive IF i take it slowly and I know that will be the aspect i am gonna have to be very strict with myself about - it isn't impatience but after a lifetime of training I like to push myself and when you get warm and in the zone the time to 'be sensible and stop now steve' can be passed if i am training alone. due to the isolated location we live in i often train alone so yes you and kensei are correct that caution must be the watchword

"A bit odd", You really need to talk to my wife....a bit is a very large understatement! And I can not change now.... My biggest peice of advice for those that have bad backs, exercise properly to strengthen it and for gods sake go get a real massage....not the kind that SOME Of you may be thinking of!

while most Karate is much less impact than Aikido...and if you let us know of injuries we CAN work around them...I agree wth Bert....avoid the throwing styles...and its not the throw that is so bad....its those darn landings!

As I am unable to afford treatment did hundred of exercises, Bench was an absolute godsend to me which is why I wanted to share. For so little effort it has a fantastic result for me. I hope maybe it could work for others. But I also grateful for kensi's input as I exercise like hell to keep it in place. Stick to safe stuff like karate those aikido people can be nasty, which is how the problem started. well for one I am very seriously researching the possible benefits for me and if you lead me to a solution I owe yer big style THANK YOU
