Well Folks, here are the Questions for the quiz so kindly sponsored by Ged Moran and LEGEND PRODUCTIONS. I have endeavoured to give you a broad selection of Karate related questions - some of which have their answers here within the contributions made by members - so you may have a bit of reading to do if you cannot remember the answer immediately.

Rules:
1.The competition is open to registered members of the OSS: OUR SHOTOKAN STUDIES FORUM.
2. Answers must be PM’d to me (Fujicolt - Steve Hyland) - by 12.00 midnight on Sunday 6th March 2011 - via the Private Message facility here on the forum.
3. George Watt and I are your judges and all judges decisions shall be final.
4. There are 20 points available to you if you get every answer correct - questions 2, 5, 8, and 12 are your multi answer questions.
5. In the result of a draw in this round another round will be held and the drawn highest score participants will compete again. This process will continue until we have an outright winner.
6.. The winner will be able to choose any single DVD from the Legend Productions website - Box sets are not included. However, If you would like one of these Box sets as your prize a substantial discount on purchase of £15 will be awarded to you instead. Note: You must state, when you submit your answers, which DVD you would like as your prize.

SHOTO was Gichin Funakoshi's pen name. Kan = Hall hence the first dojo was named the ShotoKan (hall were Shoto's karate is practiced). the name stuck as the styles name.

undoubtedly the question that threw people. the answer is simple and used as a tool to help students understand what are the sections of a technique that reguire analysis and in what order. However that analysis then gets very complicated. See article to be posted v soon.
