LEGEND PRODUCTIONS QUIZ ROUND 1: ANSWERS.
Here are the answers to round 1 of the Legend Productions Quiz. Kensei (James James) and Grunners4 (Andrew Grunewald both scored an IPPON in the first round (20 points scored, all questions answered, none wrong) and will now go forward into the next round to try and establish an outright winner.

1. Why was our style of Karate named ‘Shotokan’?
SHOTO was Gichin Funakoshi's pen name. Kan = Hall hence the first dojo was named the ShotoKan (hall were Shoto's karate is practiced. the name stuck as the styles name.
2. Who won the Inaugural All Japan Karate Championships in 1957 and what is the name of the worldwide Shotokan Karate Organisation that he founded? (Note one point will be awarded for each correct answer).

undoubtedly the question that threw people. the answer is simple and used as a tool to help students understand what are the sections of a technique that reguire analysis and in what order. However that analysis then gets very complicated. See article to be posted v soon.
