I am currently trying to start an adults only class. I have a thriving and well attended pee-wee class and a mixed senior class with ages ranging from 11 to adult but find that a mixed class is quite restrictive. I think the handful of adults I have training would come along to another session but am finding it difficult to attract new adult members. Any ideas about targeting advertising or how to get young adults to come along? Already offer taster sessions for free and have tried putting posters in pubs sports halls etc.

All good points however most of them we have covered. The school is just off the main road and easily found , car park is school grounds, we have people posted at the door to meet and greet, myself and my other instructors are first to arrive at least half an hour before commencement of class. We follow up any missed calls as a matter of urgency and no-one comes into the class without being greeted and asked if we can help. We are in the process of setting up a new web-site and we have an excellent reputation locally. Having said all this we still find it difficult to attract adult members. The area we train in has a reputation locally for being "rough". I have wondered if this is to blame or if all clubs experience the same difficulty. Help!

Thats not really an option as every local sports centre, community hall and leisure centre seem to have an established martial art. I have trawled around many of them over last few weeks and have drawn a blank.I do take your point however, that would be an ideal set-up.

not at all, all suggestions welcome and some food for thought there. Never occured to me to pitch up where another club was already training but will certainly think about it, thanks.
