does anyone have any connections to shotokan karate in ozz - i am trying to help a friend whom is visiting ozz and wants to train whilst there. all help would be gratefully recieved

Australia is a big place.

I used to be in regular contact with Bob McMahon who ran the S.R.S.I group and the Australian Karate Academy.

Haven't spoken to him for a few years so I don't know if he's still teaching or if he's passed things on to his son (there was talk that he was going to) He's in Brisbane but I know he still haunts some of the forums and had a lot of contacts so he may know someone in an appropriate location he'd be prepared to recommend.

Failing that I believe that we KASKAI (hence the "International" in our name ) have a dojo out there somewhere, if in name only (one of our blackbelts moved out there is still teaching I believe, it was before my time). I can certainly get you a contact for that from our club secretary if he's still running, but it'll only be one dojo so unless it's just around the corner...

Keith Geyer has a few dojo with the SKC (www.keithgeyerkarate.com ) in a few places.
If its hard strong training, you can't get better.....
