Many years ago I wrote an article in which I described Rugby (both League and Union) being 'Legalised GBH'. Yer gotta admit whilst watching the world cup, that with some (most ) of them it'd be a frickin nightmare having to try and 'deal' with them: No sense of pain! No Fear of injury! Calm under pressure! Fit as fudge! Often Supple and Nimble/Agile! strong as an Ox! Fast! and they enjoy getting stuck in! a list that also fits top notch Karateka I would suggest Don't yer miss playin this mad crazy Game - I do I love the RU world Cup = weeks of awesome action! but also so many examples of Warrior Spirit as they use this 'modern' game to display the kind of commitment that our ancestors must have had when defending a Village etc int middle ages - no guns just mainly up close and physical battle = Rugby (and Karate at one time ). Do you enjoy the Rugby?

I have a mate who is a professional rugby player we used to muck around play fighting. Trie a strike to the 'lung 5' point, not even the slightest flinch. Also had a night on the lemonade with Richard (poke eye) Lowe, his advice was ''do unto others before they do it to you''.

Yes Steve we have always loved watching the Rugby and are enjoying watching as many games as we can on the telly. Not quite brave enough to deal with the crowds or the cost to go see one in person.

Oh Fleur - I can TOTALLY assure you that the crowds at Rugby Union International matches ARE friendly, welcoming, fun and helpful - you would love it = especially the singalong in the Bars afterward! Worth every penny!

Steve- I got REALLY worried when I saw your topic with "GBH" in the title. I had to Google it to see that it's used in the UK for grievous bodily harm. As a neurobiologist, the only thing that I could think of is gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, which is infamous for its use as a date rape drug.
