The last couple of holidays abroad I have discretely looked for local Shotokan Dojo's but knowing the missus would kill me never followed it up.
The next trip abroad may not be for a while but was thinking of looking for a training long weekend somewhere, I found one but it didn't seem right and was way over priced.
Has anyone done anything like this?
One year I would like to go to Japan for a week but would wonder if it could live up to expectations and its not exactly a couple of hours away by plane.

I agree with Steve, When I travel, however few times I have as of late, I always find a club to work out with. Granted my wife stays home to watch my daughter...and when she travels with her mom I stay home...so no fighting over my Dojo week trips.

I will be doing just that when we go to Scotland this year! Unless anyone knows of a Shotokan club in or near BUCKIE, near where we are based, i intend to go online and see if i can find the nearest one, which will probably be over at Inverness! I will not be leaving off training for two weeks!!

Hi Michael, I have a club in Aberdeen but it is a 45 mile trip from Buckie, there are clubs in Fraserburgh and Peterhead that are closer, but if you can't find any you're more than welcome to come train with us  . Inverness would be a lot further to travel to, PM me and I'll look to see if I can find you anything closer in the NE of Scotland |

I was holidaying in Scotland last year, we were miles from civilisation so probably not near a club. Will keep it in mind if we return.
Same offer goes out to anyone who finds themselves working or holidaying near Wiltshire.
