Are there any blogs on the net written by students at the JKA headquarters in Japan ? I would love to know what it is like to train day in, day out with top masters. I want to know what techniques they practice, who they practice them with etc I don't want to know what it was like 10, 20 years ago ! I want someone who is actually THERE, NOW, TODAY ! I have looked for blogs on the net, but I can't find any !

Hi Andy
Makato who responded to your footwork question and John Stanley's Japan trip 2012 might be able to help since he is in Japan with JKA and ITKF.
Best Regards Allan

I believe Richard H posts on FB Andy and you cannot get anyone more deeply currently involved in training in Japan and don't forget Dave H who remains, to my knowledge, the most consistant non Japanese Student of the JKA whom is both resident in Japan and training consistantly throughout several decades.

Yes Steve, I know about Richard H and I am Facebook friends with Dave H, but they don't write (up-to-date) blogs on the net.

Arhh! see what you mean, my mistake sorry - but who is gonna do a daily Blog except of course - Andre Bertel (but be mindful of his vitriolic attack on all OSS Forum contributors LOL! I doubt it would be what you looking for Andy as you have vastly more experience in FC at your doorstep. I am not sure if they are any currently training at the JKA and having time to write a daily 'Blog'. I am sure DH would gladly inform you of current training methods or alternately get Naka Sensei or Tsuyama Sensei's training Dvd's. Both very interesting Good Luck

Hello Simon
Great blog(s) by Diarmaid, almost felt like being there.
Remember training at John Cheetham's Altrincham dojo April 2002 with Sensei's Inada and Langley. Great picture I have of one of my best mates Patrick Bishop 5th Dan JSKA (sadly passed away with cancer of the Oesophagus April 2010) with Sensei Inada and Langley which I will always cherish.
Trained at the first JKS dojo in the North West run by Steve Lowe from about 2001 to 2005 and attended the JKS Technical Seminar during October 2004 in Crawley with Sensei's Asai, Kagawa and Inada etc. Scott used to visit Tai-No-Sen SKC in Pemberton Wigan and bring Tor with him, how is everyone at JKS?
Best Regards Allan
