Hi Everyone I trained with Kagawa Sensei on Tues with JKS England at the Leeds Karate Academy. All 3 classes were sold out but it was still a great chance to train close up as the classes were smallish(about 50).Sensei had a knee injury, not that you would know. The 3ed class, which sadly(luckily!) I did`nt do,as it was for Leeds students only, started with 300 squat variations, all of which sensei did. He seemed pleased that the Leeds students could do them all.A credit to this strong dojo. This was a welcome to the JKS class! Sensei explained that we must protect our joints by being strong. If you read the JKS blog ,I recommended in another post, you will see that conditioning is a big feature of training at the Tokyo honbu.Same here too. All the classes on Tue were techinally excellent, focusing on using the body to the limit and expanding everything whilst having no tension.Very inspiring especially the emphasis on making karate work for your body. And making your body work for Karate. Next vist will be Yamaguchi sensei.I`ll let you know when. Big Osu! Simon Bligh
