It is wonderful to see that we have a group of relatively new OSS members whom are all posting very interesting points and info that is creating some great debates and discussions. In addition they are all also joining in with the friendly (if passionate ) attitude that has developed on this site and are interacting with longer established membrs whom have, over the last few years come to be very friendly and at times ruthlessly poking fun at each other. Our founders Dod and Liam Watt are still bound up with thier fantastic support of Kim as she Battles her illness but i assure you they are pleased and proud that the site is functioning so well in thier absence from us. Well Done and Thank you EVERYONE!! ps. - let your Dojo Colleagues know about the site and see if we can further increase the site membership in preparation for the forthcoming up date and improvement of the site when Dod can return! OSU!

A forum is normally only as good as its active posters, here also we have a growing archive of some really good articles and even interviews so we should also thank its creators and contributors. There are not many places you can go to get expert knowledge in your favourite subject or hobby without ego's "telling" you something. It's also good to see debate even from different viewpoints.
What might be good is a small leaflet design with a brief description of OSS and the web address, we could all print it off and hand it out in our Dojo's and anywhere we visit. If someone can put the "official" words together I am happy to help out, if we can't get it to work well on the forum as an attachment then we could email people a Word doc maybe.

excellent Idea Mal - I am sure that there are many karateka whom would enjoy our 'agree to disagree agreeably' philosophy and the availability of advice and sharing of ideas. Also the daft stuff as we all jibe at each other (usually at me LOL!) which i believe shows friendship and a sense of ease at the site. At many i have witnessed cliques, power struggles and more than a little of 'experience and skill' claimed when not actually owned Why don't you do the first draft?

A rough idea.... It could be copied and pasted into Word with several fitting onto one page, printed and cut up into slips. Might need some work on the wording. ;D

With the permission of the OSS owners, I would like to throw a link to the web site on our JKA of Manitoba web site. I figure if we cant chase them away with insane classes under Dingman Sensei and myself then this site may teach them a bit about independent thinking and such!

I figure if we cant chase them away with insane classes under Dingman Sensei and myself then this site may teach them a bit about independent thinking and such! The one thing this site has never been about and hates is censorship aimed at stopping Karateka seeing what is out there. So as the person Dod asked to look after the site and the person whom asked you to help me do it - I shall say there is NO problem with your suggestion. Go Ahead Dod as asked for space so I'll take resonsibility as I KNOW it will be alright so no need to trouble him I assure you.

Well in that case.....I CHALLENGE everyone that has a web site that "markets" their clubs to put this on their.
I have class tonight and I am going to mention the site to my students...let them come and join the insanit....er Lern'in as the Americans say!
I have to say that over the last few decades of being online and visiting the social sites for Karate, this truely is one of the most open minded and welcome changes to the normal web sites run by egotists and elitists. Kind of the blue coller group of Karate family types.
Now, dont let me be the only one! Visit my web site this week end (google JKA of Manitoba) and you will see the link (and some fugly pictures of yours truely)!

PARENTAL WARNINGviewing of photos of James (Kensei) is not recomended on any day with a 'y' in it - alternately if you must do so on a Friday evening so that you have a whole weekend to recover from the catotonic shock syndrome it may induce!! ;D ;D For those with Pacemakers, a fear of the more astonishing aspects of the 'Origin of Species' concept or extreme flatulence please consult your GP before Viewing!! On a more sensible Note I strongly support Kensei's suggestions and lets get the word out about the land of OSS! Nice one James

We do april fools in north america, in fact its a tradition in our local paper to make something up that gets peoples attention, this year..I fear it fell a bit lame as well! I promise steve, next year...its my turn to rost you!

I thought it was, then confirmed when you put "todays" date in bold......
On a Land Rover forum I frequent someone posted a picture of a Jeep to say it was their new car.....
Some fell for it as well until he mentioned the date. ;D
