We have been doing a lot of boxing @ The Ronin Martial Arts Club lately! I'm luvin it. Foot-work, Slip, duck, parry, catch, snap-away, bob & weave, jab, cross, the old 1-2, hook, upper cuts, clinch, focus pads, heavy bag & sparring! We use 16 oz, gloves but no head gear Nobody likes using head gear so I gave up. We don't try to knock each other out. We go harder to the body than to the head. My nose is very red (& it ain't from drinkin : After preparing for TMA competition, for several weeks, I like to do this. Anybody else do this occasionally? Hit & get hit! Next up grappling, then we mix in kicks & do MMA Thanks, Tom

My Father (MHRIP) was a Booth Boxer (fight all comers) on the Fairgrounds and Carnivals so Boxing was my first MA = Brilliant. He was only small so often had to fight much bigger men he therefore trained NOT TO BE HIT - he would Bob'N'Weave and Figure of * and it was nigh on impossible to hit him - he was always that fraction away, under or inside the Punch. He used to do it for bets (allowing men a dozen punches at him whilst he had his hands in his pockets) and about 95% of the time would get his beer money for the evening! Boxing is a beautiful Art! Way to go Tom - Your Boxing Nickname is now 'Tommy O, the Ronin Rocker!'
