Well, after Alex Parks told me you were here, I decided to come along and see the place. Very nice, indeed. As for me, I'm the "Elmar" he (ruestir) keeps going on about As for who I am, this link says it best, I guess ejconsult.tripod.com/karate/etsbio.html

A massive hello and welcome from me - I was looking at your books earlier today on Amazon as one was recomended to me. It's really great to have such experienced Karateka on here (without the big ego's , so much can be learnt and passed on by good people instead of each generation re-inventing the wheel. Bunkai is my favourite study of late and has really expanded my thoughts and enhanced my training, my birthday is coming up soon so I will have my book wish-list ready. Hope you enjoy this forum as its the best of its kind - in my humble opinion of course. ;D

Thank you for the welcome - but please go to the publisher for the books (Tamashii and Trafford) if Amazon tries to convince you to pay more than the cover price. I am sure that some of the prices I have seen (over $200!) are more than silly.

Hi Elmar and welcome, it's been a bit quiet here the last few days but I'm sure it'll all start off again soon.
All the best.

Hi Elmar It was a sad day when The Karate Underground forum eventually closed and I missed your erodite comments on a whole raft of Karate based subjects.
For me OSS has now become my place of first choice when I have an karate itch to scratch. This is a great forum to come to and I know a few of the usual suspects personally which also helps...
I too, a few years back, bought one of your books - the Tekki shodan one. I am sure I would have remembered if it was $200!
Cheers
Tom

You'll get no jibes from me on that one! As a long term "back sufferer" I know what a pain (quite literally) it can be but what I put up with is just a minor annoyance compared to what you go through. Mad idea I know but have you ever considered just taking it easy for a while? (Isn't that what blokes of our age do? ). Take care. Bob P.S. As your spending time laying down anyway have you got that dojo floor fixed yet? (doh! couldn't resist it )
