I have today had a wonderful conversation with an ex student of mine whom reached his Shodan (aged 14) 25 years ago. He recently tracked me down and informed me that when I moved away from the area he stopped training and has not returned until recently. I asked him today 'Why' has he returned to training after all this time? His answer went like this: The OUR SHOTOKAN STUDIES FORUM! I have been following it for about six months and have read just about every thread new and old, it really reignited my interest as there are so many very knowledgable Karateka debating with anyone and everyone from beginners to very senior people and everyone raises really interesting points. I haven't joined in yet as I felt a fake if I wasn't training so I have bought a new Gi and found a local club. I am loving it! ALL you OSS Members did that = IPPON

Do you think we can charge for this service.....? Maybe not. ;D You certainly don't have to be a certain level or even currently training to join in on a forum, the only criteria is a general interest in the topic. I would also happily spend a lot of my time fielding questions from absolute beginners as it's in most peoples nature to want to help out. Although i'm over 40 and a Shodan I still see myself as a beginner with a huge amount to learn - there is no "I am" here....
