so...
Being crap at organising anything I have managed to run out of my disposable contact lenses, which has meant for the last two training sessions I have been training ex-specs.
...which basically means no glasses, no contact lenses - and given I am quite short-sighted everything becomes very impressionistic.
So one of the reasons I thought this would be beneficial was that the most likely situation I will encounter in the street will be when I am wearing my glasses. It is therefore very likely that i will lose them (and for a permanent glasses wearer that is terrifying). In my mind learning how to cope in that situation would seem a good training goal for me.
In addition to that I also discovered some other interesting things :
I can think of some reasons for why this all is, but I thought I would open it out to the forum for some healthy debate.

In addition to that I also discovered some other interesting things :
- Whilst not being able to see properly I think my balance improved whilst practicing Kihon techniques. What I mean is that my "sense of self" feels more balanced and my weight more grounded.
- Surprisingly my control did not deteriorate, much to the relief of my training partners ;D.
- When fighting without my contacts in, I have been closing down the gaps and entering and dominating much quicker than is normal for me (I usually ponce about, do a bit of long range posing and then eventually get around to closing the range and then grab-and-hammer). Had four separate dojo fights today and in three of them I used a choke with a take down! (I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've used a choke in 25 years)
I can think of some reasons for why this all is, but I thought I would open it out to the forum for some healthy debate.
