All members can you please refrain from personal abuse to other members, I asked this before and also asked if we could return to debating and sharing our knowledge about Shotokan Karate.
I'm sorry that I had to delete a post and ban a member, but this is not a place for publicly humiliating someone, I did warn that this action would be taken if this was to happen.
We are a site of reference to develop and expand our studies in our art.
Again lets get back to the discussing about karate !!

Damn it DOD you beat me to it and I had a supper dupper reply before I was going to lock the thread.
however I would also like to point out for those that did read the little hissy fit of a post that was put on here that if you bothered to read a bit more about what the poster-er had presented on his research...it would have made him look like an ass!
the point being he pointed fingers and tried to make one of our own look bad, and if anyone with half a working brain read further it kind of back fired on him.
As Dod stated this is a forum for talking about karate and not muck throwing. Dod as the owner gave me my tin badge to act as constable here and I wont be above locking threads after embarassing the poster of such drivel!

The issue that occured was dealt with correctly and swiftly by Dod, I am not as nice as Dod is however and I really think this kind of school girl drama should be dragged out into the sun and exposed as the steamy pile of poo that is harming Karate now adays.
As for what it was Thomas, its not as important as knowing that Dod is correct. He set this place up for us to chat about Karate and to be able to learn from each other. Now we all know its gone a tad quiet here as of late but its no excuse for muck slinging.
I have seen way to much school yard bullies in Karate, so much political muck slinging and acting like fools to embarass everyone here for being associated with it. My hope as an admin here is to cut that out of this one bastion of karate chat in a world filled with forums that support this kind of stupid behavior.
suffice it to say that someone posted some things on the forum that were not related to training and attempted to defame a member of the forum. The people that did this have done this before and seem to live for this!
Time to get back to KRatty chat and leaving those that wollow in pig poo to do what they do best!

I most likely should just let this die, however I would like to express an opinion. One of the most important aspects of Shotokan Karate is the `Dojo Kun`. It is a shame that there are those who practice this fine art & I assume repeat the `Dojo Kun` after most of their training sessions & yet show that it means nothing to them. Thank you Dod for your diligence in handling this matter. Nuff said `Osu` Paul B

Sorry Guys not meaning to rake over stuff, just watching others getting banned for me is the internet equivalent of "rubber necking" the car accident on the other side of the motorway.
...it feels very wrong, but i can't help being curious with a small element of Schadenfreude. I put it down to my inquisitive monkey ancestry...:-)
Oh, and I wouldn't put the low traffic down to the recent spats, it has much more to do with holidays and the time of year etc...

Hi Tom
Interesting observation regarding your last sentence. During 3 recent visits to the site the stats were I staff, 15 members and 268 guests. 2 staff, 16 members and 272 guests. 2 staff, 14 members and 277 guests.
Potentially there is the opportunity for considerable postings to occur so why is there not? is the membership and guest visitors waiting in anticipation for something to emerge?
Best Regards Allan

Those that have been banned, and I assure you Dod did it after a few stern warnings, were done so for posting and digging up issues, not just commenting or "rubber necking", the parties were warned and then banned for offenses that were just trolling and picking a fight. ...it feels very wrong, but i can't help being curious with a small element of Schadenfreude. I dont know what Schadenfrude but I would get medication for that if I was you

Best Regards Allan I know it's annectodal but all the sites I frequent seem to be a bit quiet at the moment... and it often requires a small active number of individuals to keep a forum community going... if a few are busy, have left or are on holiday then that can make everything slow down a abit.

Hi James Schadenfreude according to Wikipedia describes the pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. From a medical perspective I do not think that medication would be useful as it might be seen by some as a personality disorder trait Best Regards Allan

I wrote a piece on 24FC on the dojo kun entitled "The Solution to the Five Personality Defects of Karate" - that might be of use. You can find the link well enough, since I don't know the policy on this board about linking to another site.
