Just been on holiday in southern France and had the good intensions of going to the local Shotokan club to train and maybe doing some early morning Kata on the beech.... Ended up doing zilch! The club in question didn't reply to my emails - I even got them translated - but I didn't want to just gate crash. We were near the Dojo during the hols and the parking was an absolute nightmare as our vehicle is a Land Rover with a roof rack so wouldn't fit into any of there car parks, it was also getting onto 40 degrees C so my boy and I would have melted anyway. One good thing is we went to the beech when the Med wind got up and practiced our stances in the rough sea whilst being battered by the waves. I fear the next training session will be tough as we have both kicked back and relaxed.

Must admit it was a relaxing holiday but really missed the training, I did some extra reading of the Bubishi by Patrick McCarthy and have some more ideas to explore and add to my lessons. ;D

I'm banned at present on this. The result of arranging our holidays so that I could go via the dojo to teach my Saturday class on the way and having to leave in time to teach the next Saturday on the way home. Not allowed to pack the Gi any more. (I know my place )

That was hard work......
But good fun! Might take a couple of weeks to burn off those French Cheese, Wine & Biscuit sessions.
