I had a conversation today with a friend in Canada. He in turn had a conversation with someone in the JKA Hierarchy there in the past few days. Their conversation was about JKA trying to reunite Shotokan to the place it once was.
The interesting news was that Masao Kagawa is allegedly re-entering the JKA. I warned that it was likely to be Masao Kawasoe, but this friend said no "Kagawa from JKS'.
I am sure that it is probably all an error, but I wonder if anyone else has heard of this, or a JKA/JKS reuniting?
I do not wish to start rumours. This is a genuine question to those with ears out there.

Hi Rob
Sensei Masao Kawasoe 8th Dan is JKA. If you google him you will see all the courses that he is instructing on under JKA on the UKTKF website.
Best Regards Allan

To reiterate:That is what the guy was trying to tell me.
I knew about Kawasoe of course. It is old news now. This gossip was a new name.
He specified it Kagawa. Even when challenged and suggested that it may be Kawasaoe.
The main thrust of the conversation was JKA attempting to re-unite the Shotokan splinters, and once again lead Shotokan.
I do not not know what the truth is. Perhaps I could easily find out, if it is that important.
I just wondered if anyone else had heard such, just in case there is truth in it.

I have not read about this or been told about it, but in my oppinion its a good thing. the more seniors we can bring back under one umbrella the better for the students who want to train with different masters. I know groups like the ISKF will never come back because of issues, but those that left before or with the big devide would be great to have as associated again...if not full members.
